Hello! My name is Bianca and I live in South Florida with my husband and our dog. While I was born in Miami, I grew up in Northern California and then moved back to South Florida to begin my undergraduate studies at Florida International University. Fun fact – I met my now husband while studying at FIU! My hobbies include reading and traveling. A big part of who I am is that I love helping others and watching others succeed. With that being said, I originally was studying to become a pediatric physical therapist. While completing my coursework, I came across a job in applied behavior analysis and absolutely fell in love with the field. I loved that it was based in science and provided me the ability to help others. I worked as an RBT for five years, then as a BCaBA for two years, and I am now just shy of working as a BCBA for two years. I believe that working at different tiers of ABA has led me to being a stronger clinician today.
Working nine years in the field and with a variety of clientele really has helped mold me into the clinician I am today. I believe that applied behavior analysis services rooted in compassion and play are the most effective. Learning is supposed to be fun! I truly make it my goal to find new and creative ways to teach a skill so that it feels more like play than “work.”
I will never forget that early on in my work in ABA, I had the pleasure of working with a family that had been told that their child would never vocally communicate and to not even bother trying to work on this skill. It broke my heart to find a family so defeated by this feedback. With hard work, consistency, play, and applying the basic principles of ABA, the child began using partial words to communicate needs in a matter of two weeks. This forever changed me and reinforced the idea that limitations should never be placed upon an individual and you never know what we can accomplish together.
I have always had a deep-rooted love for science and helping others. Finding behavior analysis provided me with the capacity to join these two passions. I have a genuine and true drive for helping others become the best versions of themselves. I value neurodiversity and am compelled to advocate of the neurodivergent and celebrating all our uniqueness. I love that applied behavior analysis has provided me with a platform to ensure everyone reaches their highest and best potential.
I am fully dedicated to working together to help meet an individual’s needs. You can expect a welcoming and friendly BCBA that aims to combine ABA with fun! Caregivers can also expect honesty, empathy, and commitment to communication.
